Temple of Sacred Ashes

There was nowhere to hide, the ashes fell like snow, and the ground caved in between where we were standing, and your voice was all I heard.

A long-lost holy site of the Chantry, the Temple of Sacred Ashes was the resting place for the remains of Andraste. After the Bride of the Maker was burned by Tevinter, her ashes were stolen by one of her disciples, placed in an urn, returned to the Frostback Mountains, and then lost for centuries. That was the story, but as time went on and the temple remained hidden, most came to believe it was just that, a story. Then, during the Fifth Blight, the Hero of Ferelden managed to track down the temple’s location and discovered the urn inside, the ashes within it still extremely holy, and the story was suddenly real again. Though initially kept a secret by the HoF, the discovery of the temple, nestled near the Frostback village of Haven, was soon known to the general populace. After this, and despite the urn disappearing during its brief period of secrecy, the temple itself was restored, presumably stripped of the deadly traps that the HoF had to navigate to get inside, and used as a pilgrimage site by the Chantry and its faithful. Due to its importance, it was chosen by Divine Justinia V as the site of the Conclave between the mages and the Templars in an attempt to end their ongoing conflict. Unfortunately, the temple and nearly everyone in it was destroyed by the creation of the Breach. And then destroyed even more thoroughly when Corypheus opened a bigger Breach to draw me to him for a final showdown. Whether or not someone will attempt to rebuild the temple again after it was torn to pieces and then dropped from the sky is still up in the air, even if the temple itself is not.
