Temple of Mythal

Look what they've done to this house of love, the savior's come and gone, we're all out of time, the devil's in the temple and he ain't no friend of mine.

The Temple of Mythal is, well, kind of self-explanatory, really. It’s a temple dedicated to Mythal, the elven goddess of love and protector of all. It is buried deep in the Arbor Wilds, a dangerous forest that few venture into and fewer return from. This remote location means that it is relatively intact for an ancient elven building, most of which have been destroyed by neglect or malicious intent by this point. The Inquisition became aware of the temple when Corypheus pressed into the Arbor Wilds in an attempt to retrieve something tucked away in its walls and we moved to stop him. On the way, we discovered one of the reasons why nobody got close to the temple in the form of the Sentinels, ancient elven warriors who guarded the area against invaders. The sanctuary was also protected by powerful magical wards that were enough to temporarily stop Corypheus himself. Once we got inside, we followed the protocols for advancing to the inner parts of the temple. These protocols were, oddly, a series of floor tiles that needed to be walked in a specific order. Even I have to admit that my people are a bit weird. Anyways, the prize that Cory sought laid in the heart of the temple and wasn’t the eluvian that we had thought, but a pool called the Well of Sorrows. Whatever it was, the important part was that we got there first and snatched it from under his spiky chin.
