Haven

Red sun rising in the sky, sleeping village, cockerels cry. Soft breeze blowing in the trees, peace of mind, feel at ease.

Haven was a small village in the Frostback Mountains of western Ferelden. Long forgotten, it suddenly rose to fame thanks to the Hero of Ferelden. During his attempt to unite his country against the Fifth Blight, the HoF found himself in need of a miracle. He found one, with the help of a well-traveled Chantry researcher named Brother Genitivi, in the form of the Urn of Andraste. The holy relic was lost to history for hundreds of years, but Genitivi had tracked its location to near Haven. When the HoF traveled there, he discovered the village had been taken over by a fanatical cult and had to fight his way to the Temple of Sacred Ashes. Obviously, this left the actual village in a bit of a mess, and it was soon abandoned. But, thanks to the discovery of the Temple nearby, Divine Justinia V ordered the restoration of Haven as a stopover on the pilgrimage to the site. When the Temple was chosen to host the Conclave, Haven became busier than ever. After the first attempt to seal the Breach failed, the town was where I convalesced, and it eventually became the first home of the reborn Inquisition. Unfortunately, Haven was annihilated when Corypheus and his Red Templars attacked us there. Fortunately, we were able to evacuate most of the townspeople before I buried the entire village with an avalanche to cover our escape. With its important location, it may be rebuilt again in the future, but as of now, the only remaining sign that Haven existed is a memorial built to honor those who lost their lives to Corypheus’ attack.
