Bram Kenric is a professor at the University of Orlais whose discoveries drew the Inquisition to Frostback Basin. Originally from Starkhaven in the Free Marches, he researches the histories of the Orlesian Empire and the Chantry. Though most scholars thought the history of the last Inquisitor of the original Inquisition, Ameridan, was complete, Kenric found evidence that this was not the case. He pursued this lead to Frostback Basin and unwittingly stumbled across a plot to unleash an ancient force of destruction on the land. His early attempts to explore the ruins in the basin were met with resistance from an Avvar clan called the Jaws of Hakkon. Needing a force to protect him and his colleagues, he correctly assumed that the current Inquisition would be interested in assisting him and reached out to us. We sent Scout Harding to survey the area with Kenric, and a sizable force soon joined her. Once we had cleared a path, the scout, the professor and I investigated the ruins, which contained a fascinating shrine which incorporated both elven and Andrastian elements. After the whole mess in the Basin was sorted out, the professor was able to prove that much of the accepted history of Ameridan was completely wrong, including the embarrassingly basic fact of what race he was. Knowing Orlais, revealing this information might mean that Kenric is in need of a new job, and possibly some protection, very soon. For his services, though, he will always be welcome in the Inquisition.
