Right Hand of the Divine
Hero of Orlais
Probably a Golem
Speaker of Bear
CAPCaFiP
My 78th-in-line princess
78 (for brevity's sake)
Sev (for absolute brevity's sake)

Cassandra, or Cassandra Allegra Portia Calogera Filomena Pentaghast, which is her ridiculous full name, is a member of the Seekers of Truth and a founding member of the Inquisition. Born to an ancient house in Nevarra, one of the nations across the Waking Sea from Ferelden and Orlais, she is actually technically royalty, sitting comfortably at 78th in line for the throne. She rejected her pampered life early on, however, opting to join the Seekers at a young age, effectively devoting her life to the Chantry. Her piety is a defining characteristic of her life, and her work as a Seeker eventually led her to be named Hero of Orlais and Right Hand of the Divine by Beatrix III, Divine Justinia V’s predecessor, after some country-saving dragon slaying. Later, as the Mage-Templar War was simmering, Cassandra set out to search for someone to lead the not-quite-re-formed Inquisition, starting with the Hero of Ferelden, whom she was unable to locate. So, she went after Hawke, the Champion of Kirkwall, next, but found Varric, instead. He spun Cassandra a tale of the Champion, but ultimately wouldn’t reveal his friend’s location by (falsely, it turned out) claiming to not know it. Temporarily stumped, Cassandra was in Haven for the Conclave, but not with Most Holy when an explosion killed the Divine and everyone else, save me, in the Temple of Sacred Ashes. She arrived soon after, however, which is when she and I met.

Cassandra and I got off to a rocky start, what with her thinking I caused the Breach and all, but we quickly clicked and, before long, she was restarting the Inquisition and ultimately nominating me as Inquisitor. Though it was shaken several times, Cassandra never lost faith in the Chantry, believing that it still had a necessary part to play while also realizing it could be improved. Her objective, rational outlook on things also proved useful in that our differing levels of and views on faith were never an obstacle in our relationship. Likewise, she proved to be a, and possibly the most, steadfast ally to both Inquisition and Inquisitor. Helping to guide the fledgling organization from the beginning, she also stood on the frontlines of the battle against Corypheus. She faced down demons and dragons as one of my companions, proving herself to be a singular martial force, while simultaneously hiding a delightfully cute, romantic side that few would ever see or even suspect. Cassandra may have never wanted to sit on a throne, but her actions have had as much impact on history as many kings or queens could claim. She is also the love of my life, and, somehow, I am hers.
