Greetings, everyone, I am Inquisitor Uth’Samahl Lavellan, leader of the Inquisition. Though, I would much prefer it if you just called me Sam.  As you may be aware of, recently the members of the Inquisition and I struggled against a mighty opponent who wanted to conquer the entire continent of Thedas and beyond.  It’s a grand tale full of drama, danger, daring, desire, deception, dastards, demons, dragons, darkspawn, and all kinds of other remarkable discoveries and fascinating characters that don’t start with a “d.”  The fates of entire countries are decided, accepted history is challenged by startling revelations previously lost to time, and the future of the world as we know it rests in a single, glowy, hand.  During the whole thing, I kept a journal that chronicled my unique perspective of the epic events unfolding all around me.  Those entries have been gathered here, in this book, accompanied by incredible illustrations to provide the definitive chronicle of one of the most influential conflicts in the history of our world.  So, without further ado, I proudly present:

The Adventures of Inquisitor Sam
the Glowy-Handed

Before you proceed further, however, a quick side note.  For the sake of clarity we provided a glossary of important people, places, and things I encountered during my inquisiting in this book.  While this is an immensely helpful resource in a tale as sweeping and complex as this, please allow me to provide a warning.  These entries might contain information that comes up naturally in a later part of the story, meaning that if you immediately read the glossary entry of something when the name is first mentioned, you might accidentally ruin a part of the story that you haven’t arrived at yet.  This is particularly true when dealing with entries about people.  I ultimately decided that having the information present was worth any potential risk, and as such I have tried to avoid potential ruiners, a term I have just invented, as much as possible and included warnings for particularly troublesome entries.  You are of course, free to read this book in any fashion you wish, I just thought it would be prudent to get ahead of this potential problem and issue some advice up front.  Sorry for the interruption, please enjoy The Adventures of Inquisitor Sam the Glowy-Handed, and watch out for ruiners.
